Great Free Tool for Teaching Kids Smart Money Habits

Rooster is a great account, especially as it is free for NatWest customers. It provides an excellent way to help children develop healthy money and spending habits from an early age. I particularly like that it allows them to learn how to use payment cards responsibly while understanding budgeting and saving in a practical way. Reviewed on: 18th February 2026

Two kids, two rooster accounts, 2 happy parents.

I have two rooster cards for my two children, as a NatWest customer I don’t pay for the privilege like some of the others, so it’s great that they do that for existing customers. The app works great, even co-parenting with my ex wife we can both use it, we add some money, take money away, keep our eye on what they buy. Also when my son turned 13 he could use Apple Pay, which he loves. never had any issues with rooster at all. Reviewed on: 18th February 2026

Gives kids money responsibility with a parent overview

Easy to manage parent top ups via app and useful having the holding account so I can move money quickly between accounts. Child friendly user interface making it easy for them to track their money. Also really handy having a debit card associated, kids feel really grown up. Especially as they get to choose the design. Reviewed on: 18th February 2026

Rooster account works great

Rooster accounts for the younger kids works great, just wish the age the app could be used on their phone could be lowered so the 11 year old doesn't need to carry a card as well as his phone Reviewed on: 18th February 2026
