Saving and I don't even know it!

Plum is such a brilliant idea and app. I am saving money for my holiday without even realising it! Saving without thinking

Over the last 4 years, automated movements from my current account to my Plum account has meant that I've saved over £6000 without even thinking. This has helped me move house, pay for holidays, and now will help me pay for my wedding. Its a brilliant app, so user friendly and I'm in complete control of whether I save or not. One less thing to worry about

Plum was recommended to me by my daughter who has always struggled to save. I already had a regular savings routine but thought I’d give it a try. I loved the idea of building a rainy day fund and it being so readily available. I was a little dubious at first as I didn’t think I had enough funds after bills and other regular outgoings had been taken to put away any more. But I needn’t have worried. Instant withdrawals give piece of mind when things crop up that I hadn’t actually budgeted for. It’s great to see my pocket filling up and gives a sense of achievement without any effort from me, win win. Save without thinking, and see how it grows!

I mainly tried Plum because I found it hard to save within my bank - it involved having a separate account, and it was hard to stick to as well as consistently add to. Plum’s automatic deposits and splitters mean that I don’t have to think about where to save my money, and auto-deposits at small values mean I don’t end up with more money coming out than I expect, while still seeing my savings grow whenever I want/ Reviewed on: 17th February 2023
