I have been using Plum for years now. It’s became a part of my banking, helping me organise finances and saving money. I have been able to save up a lot of money with minimal effort as I don’t even see or feel the money it saves as it automatically calculates what I can afford and saves little by little. Easy to use and an absolute gem of an app. Makes saving a breeze.

Plum is a fantastic app which makes saving easy and effortless. After setting up secure read only access to your bank account in a couple of clicks, the app uses artificial intelligence and user defined rules to transfer money from your account to one of more “pockets”. You can set plum to transfer a small percentage of money aside based on your outgoings according to one or more rules. The app can set money aside on your pay day, set a specific amount aside every week, round up purchases and set the difference aside, save money every time it rains or you can set up a 1p challenge or 52 week challenge. Many more features are included too but some are only available in one of the three paid tiers although the most useful features are available for free. I’ve been using the app with most of the saving features enabled for two years and I’ve managed to save around £7,000 over that time. I have added more as and when I could manually, but the automatic features have saved the majority without me even noticing the money being squirrelled away. The app is easy to use and has made a huge difference to my life in regards to saving. An absolute gem and highly recommended for anyone. Reviewed on: 16th February 2023
