As an employment advisor, I regularly use the Better Off calculator to assist individuals. This tool has significantly enhanced awareness of funding and support for those facing physical and mental health challenges. The detailed breakdown provided helps users access additional financial support, ensuring they understand their budgeting options thoroughly. When concerned about how a new role might affect their benefits, they receive precise information down to the penny. This has boosted their confidence and enabled them to complete limited capability and disability benefit assessments, accessing support previously unavailable to them. I believe the calculator is truly excellent and has directly supported thousands in my time in this role in this company to learning how to access more support they're entitled to. Great tools and functions, needing a couple of tweaks

The calculator offers comprehensive tools to check a client's circumstances, including calculating transitional protection and circumstances for students. Some of the parts could be a little clearer, e.g. around whether a client is eligible for contribution-based benefits (perhaps a way to input dates worked to calculate it, or a clearer external link to do so without having to client on the external information?) Overall a good experience that supports our advice team with delivering benefits services to our vulnerable clients well. Reviewed on: 14th May 2025

I find the better off calculator to be helpful as it help show customers to show an in detail breakdown of what areas in money and savings can be improved when they start work .
