the day after taking out insurance I received an email explaining that they had experienced a system error. My money had been refunded and I was not insured. I would have to pay again to be insured. But the refund will take 3 to 5 days to become available. essentially these lovely people left me with neither insurance, or the money I required to pay for insurance.

I’ve been with privilege coming up to 4 years, I rang to change my vehicle to find out they had cancelled my insurance without warning me 4 days prior to me calling them. They blame failed direct debits but I have paid every month. When asking them to give me a quote on a new policy i was quoted £231 a month dearer than my current policy which had just been cancelled without my knowledge. I had been driving around with my child in the car heavily pregnant in an uninsured vehicle because they couldn’t be bothered to phone/email or write to me. When asking why they had done this they couldn’t give me a genuine explanation! Will never use or recommend this company again.

Honestly, you'll go on tons of comparisons websites and this will always pop up at the top as the cheapest, they pay these comparison website to do this, once they've got you booked onto a quote, after 200 pound in admin fees ect you will then be forced to pay out your arse for a sub par insurance company with crummy support staff and very poor benefits, i'd recommend anywhere else than these guys, just another money hungry insurance company.

I couldnt leave fast enough when it was time to renew in August even though my car hasn't been properly repaired and its with the ombudsman. Had to put in a complaint to dlg legal as the case handler was incompetent, I have a better one now. Stay far... Read more

Had to put in a complaint to dlg legal as the case handler was incompetent, I have a better one now. Stay far away from privilege insurance. I would never recommend

Repairs by there approved repairers

I brought a car for £18000 and in one year and a half, I have driven it for seven months its been back to them several times and privilege are not helpful at all.
What a waist of time. Please avoid them as they don't want to help

Privilege had a competitive price for the year. I had a car accident back in April of this year. Whilst the claim went through successfully. There were a few benefits, that I expected automatically with the cover, like other insurers which was not the case. An example of this was a courtesy car, which I found I was not entitled to on this occasion despite paying for this cover. My advice would be, when shopping around do not take it for granted that all insurers are the same. Read up and compare before you take out your cover. Whilst there were a few matters which had to be escalated, everything was resolved and I was satisfied with the service.

I had a car accident. Reporting the claim took a great deal of time, almost one hour. The call was thorough however there was a miscommunication concerning my entitlement to a courtesy car which caused some inconvenience and had a knock on effect, causing further miscommunication. A good effort was made, to put things right on part of privilege which I acknowledge. However at an already distressing time, the mishaps did exacerbate matters. Despite these issues I still would recommend Privilege as there were many areas which they got right first time . This included prompt collection of my vehicle, and delivery to the garage as it was unsafe to drive. Additionally dealing with the needs of the passengers in the vehicle. Thank you.

Bitterly disappointed that despite only making two honest claims (one which we chose not to pursue) that we have now been declined household insurance! Be very careful, back in 2015 on a technicality Privilege made our first ever claim into two claims, even though we could evidence it was only one. Now following a recent leak we were advised by a specialist whom we paid for to contact our insurer, which we did. Despite not pursuing this claim Privilege have since told us we've claimed too many times and are a bad commercial risk! I intend to take this matter further with the Financial Ombudsman Service because we have been unfairly treated.

I have chosen this insurance because it seemed the best option in terms of services and price. After one year the price went up and I asked why, the answer because my car is valuable. This makes sense? And they did not let me know in advance. Later I had an accident, it was not my fault, I took pictures and collected information from the other vehicle. Privilege did not pay any attention to my case that I had to pay my share and more the price went up because I was the one responsible for the accident. How do you think I feel, not being protected by the insurance company from which I have been paying £83 and now £115 plus £ 53 for canceling the insurance ...

We Made a claim in November in regards to a road accident and everything was going great for about a week. 6 weeks later in between lots of mucks ups eventually in December we were just about to receive our pay out for the claim when we receive a call from Privilege stating 3 of their own customer service and claims advisors had read their own policy wording wrong in regards to our claimand we had indeed been misinformed about our claim and they would no longer be paying the claim!!! We have had so many problems, spoken to so many different advisors none from the UK may i add and none of them know their jobs properly obviously. This company need struck off for false misinterpretations and advising customers wrongly. We purchased our new vehicle on Privileges advise that they would pay the claim so we are now thousands of pounds out of pocket because if the incompetent imbeciles. Avoid like the plague unless you want to pay insurance for no reason and not be paid out, its little wonder people hate insurance companies when you have companies like this treating their customers like this. Again everyone AVOID AVOID AVOID, they are an absolute joke and we will see how they like every bad review and bad publicity i can put there way as well as the financial Ombudsman !!!

Cancelled my policy leaving me without insurance for a full week.....essentially leaving me driving illegally. Made no effort to help me fix the issue before cancelling. Requoted an astrological amount 350quid more than Id paid in full only 2 months prior. Such a stressful situation. No customer care at all.
