Don't bother, useless.

Had several plumbers come out to fix a leak and all have spent 2 minutes looking at the issue and said its too big of a job to do. We then had a trusted independent plumber come out and look and he managed to find and sort the problem no issue and efficiently. This is after were on the priority register due to 4 vulnerable adults living in the house! Absolutely useless to have any sort of house insurance with this company from our experience. Annoyed Home Insurance Customer

1
Really annoyed (home insurance customer here). I live in the Leicestershire area and had a problem with bedbugs. Luckily for me, I had added pest cover to my policy. When I contacted Sheilas' Wheels directly, I was first incorrectly told I didn't have pest cover on my policy (I do, I have screenshots to prove it from the web portal - it says I am covered). I was next told I would have to contact a separate team, when they finally accepted they were wrong. I was next told that because I hired British Bug Control / Cimexine directly (who are well known and well accredited), they wouldn't pay out. This is extremely enraging, because the web portal (which shows my documentation / cover options) mentioned NOWHERE that I had to go through some side-teams' recommendations. No one made me aware of that in advance, when I asked why no one had made me aware the response was just "I don't know". For insurance, I expect that if I have a problem that I am covered for, which I can prove (via photos of the bed bugs, via the invoice from Cimexine) that the insurance company should pay out. I'm not even asking for the full amount, just a meagre £200 towards the heat treatment (which was over £1,000)! But apparently, even that is too much for these liars and scoundrels, who sold me a package which includes pest cover, only for me to later find out that claiming the money is extremely conditional and they refuse to pay. So thanks a lot, Sheilas' Wheels, for bouncing me around internal teams and then not giving me the help I need despite charging me extra each month for un-claimable cover extras. I would advise anyone to give this company an EXTREMLY WIDE BERTH (***STEER CLEAR***) and I will be cancelling, and telling my story to anyone who will listen so they can also avoid. This is also going up on Google Revies (I actually found the listing, even though it was hard) and Trust Pilot, and anywhere else I can find to post it. Reviewed on: 4th August 2022

Not worth the paper it's written on

1
Made a claim and was visited by a contractor who damaged my ceiling. The company then tried to blame me, and were absolutely no help at all while we argued over 2 years. A dozen letters and 2 ombudsman interventions later (all done on my side). I finally got the full balance to get my ceiling fixed. This company don't care about customers, my advice would be to steer clear of them. Reviewed on: 4th July 2022

Waste of money

1
My son jumped on my sofa and accidently snapped the wood underneath. They told me it was wear and tear, even though they hadn't asked for any extra information, and the claim was closed. I have accidental damage on my policy. After I complained they said they would send a company out but I would lose my no claims even if they still claimed it was wear and tear. What a waste of money. Its not the price of the policy it's the service you get when you need them. I wouldn't use them again. Reviewed on: 23rd January 2022

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY

1
Tried using home emergency cover on Friday 6.30 pm and on Tuesday 9.45 am still no heating or hot water with a baby who has gastroentritis and been in A&E on Saturday. Absolutely no priority given, refused claim but didn't tell us until today - it's supposed to be 24 hour emergency cover. Baby has been shaking and shivering this morning whilst getting dressed. Your management take no ownership don't call back, and staff are incompetent, making promises they don't keep and we have had to chase and chase to get to this stage. national heating have provided verbal information which does not tie with report which for some reason Axa /Sheilas Wheels won't provide to me and are unable to answer why this is the case. I have asked for gas safe numbers for people who have attended which they haven't provided. Also asked for policy information which they have quoted at me which they can't provide either. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!!!! Absolutely disgusting behaviour and now, 4 days on, we are back to square one having to try and find a competent gas engineer who will fix the boiler and heating. I hope your staff and management can sleep at night, because we haven't been able to! Reviewed on: 16th November 2021

They rip me off

You may as well not be insured.

I discovered water in my loft and called the 24hr emergency cover to find a leaking roof in pouring rain was not covered! I contacted Sheila's Wheels and spoke to Mercia. She was intent on disuading me from making a claim stressing that my premiums would rise and it would cost be £125 and that was if it was actually storm damage. She told me they wouldn't be able to turn out a roofer just an assessor. As I was expressing my annoyance we were disconnected. I think she hung up on me. I'll never prove it but she certainly didn't call me back. She did send me an email falsely stating my excess was £225. Again, I felt to dissuade me from claiming. I complained on Facebook. Three days later a Simon Law called. He apologised for Mercer after having heard the phone call recording and felt she lacked empathy and needed speaking to. Although he was sympathetic nothing was done regarding my leaking roof after 3 days of pouring rain and he was keen to tell he had examined the storm records and nothing was recorded in the last two weeks to constitute a claim. It never occurred to him the damage might have been caused long before. I hadn't been in the loft since September. I got a roofer and resolved the issue at my own expense after 4 days of torrential rain. With Sheilas wheels you might as well not be insured. They did nothing but try to put me off claiming!
