Transparent and foolproof

Everything is itemised so you can see all you need for accounting, budgeting and spending purposes in simple terms instantly. The speed of being able to download reports and statements when required is welcome and the security inspires confidence without being too obtrusive or having to jump through hoops, by the use of the app. Reviewed on: 31st March 2023

Dreadful customer service.

Starling Bank have absolutely appalling customer service. When they can actually be bothered to reply to you, Starling Bank representatives will often completely ignore what you have said and give you an irrelevant response, probably some pre-written junk that they copied and pasted. Or Starling Bank will tell you that black is white and up is down. They seem to have no qualms about openly lying to customers, even when their response completely contradicts an earlier message from the history in the ticket/case. And quite a lot of the time Starling Bank will just completely ignore you, not respond at all and then close your ticket/case, which you can't re-open. You can only message Starling Bank through their mobile app, so you have to type everything on your phone, which is slow and difficult for more complicated issues. This also means that there is no way for you to see previous messages whilst you are typing. This all seems to be deliberately designed to make it difficult to communicate with them and put customers at a disadvantage. Starling Bank will not make any accommodations for users who cannot easily use their mobile app for communicating with them. The app is very poor in terms of accessibility, but Starling Bank refuse to comply with their obligations under the Equality Act 2010. Starling Bank also unlawfully withhold personal information from Subject Access Requests, in breach of the Data Protection Act 2018. Finally, if Starling Bank consider that a transaction is suspicious, then they will ask you via a notification in their mobile app whether it is legitimate or not. If you say no, then they will block the transaction. You would think that this is a good protection against fraud, however Starling Bank will sometimes reverse this later on and remove the money from your account without your permission, even when you explicitly tell them not to. So they are happy to knowingly and wilfully enable and profit from fraud, even where they initially blocked it! Do not trust Starling Bank with your money under any circumstances. My Business Grew with Starling Business Account

When I needed a business account during the lockdown. Know one would help me with a account for my business which grew during lockdown. Starling stepped up and provided me a business account. Dont need a next bank even when I grow. Thanks to Starling staff, CEO for sharing their dreams, and thanks from my family and cutomers. My vote is Starling out of high street banks. Easy banking

I've had no problems banking with starling bank. I did have an issue with fraud and a call to Starling bank were helpful and got it fixed and the monies returned promptly. Other than that it is straight forward banking, let's me know incoming and outgoing. Can't complain as it's easy to use and links up with my Xero software which makes it simple for accounting. Lack of business support

While i like the digital bank platform and this has worked in general but I have been underwhelmed with some services. After a year of been a customer we received a message threatening to close our business account as some of our transactions were not deemed by Starling as business transactions. There were down to transactions at supermarkets were as a business we provide food and snacks for employees to keep them motivated while in the office. We applied for an overdraft facility in February and this was approved. We spent weeks back and forth signing digital forms that were not formatted correctly and as a consequence voided to be now sat in a que waiting to find out with no defined deadline when the facility will be available. From the perspective of a small business owner this has been very poor and caused some financial difficulties which you claim to support. Easiest banking possible

I feel starling bank has revolutionised banking. It used to be tedious and boring thing to manage accounts. Starling has changed all that. I cant imagine going to any other bank after using Starling. Reviewed on: 31st March 2023
