Saved our CIC in Lockdown

We started a business more by accident during Covid, not having much experience in banking and all ‘traditional’ banks closed, we where recommended Starling. From the moment of first contact we have been supported, helped and the incredible facilities to record and be transparent has helped us grown from strength to strength making this one thing for me not to have to think or worry about. 5 Stars from me Reviewed on: 20th March 2021

Starting out

As a start up at this time access to mainstream banks have been restricted to those with whom these banks decide to do business with not a prospective enterprise such as ours. We found the services provided by Starling are at least an equal to but normally far exceed those offered by the old school banks. Starling have taken the time to create a service which is reactive to the needs of small businesses, easily accessible and links intuitively to other digital platforms. This isn’t. A self fulfilling prophecy that tech will conquer all but a reaction and perception of where the needs of both operational everyday banking and payments but of the fiscal duties and obligations we have. As a litmus teat we asked our accountant which platform we should chose as an ideal and what could we use until we were able to get by with until we could pass the previous trading criteria. Her response was Starling will be great for immediate needs and there was no reason she could see that such an adaptable platform would not be able to satisfy no matter how far the company goes. For me personally I have had no experience of friendly calls to carry out a check up on my account and offer to sell me insurance I don’t need or a mortgage I don’t want. This again is a great selling point as being cold called by my own bank is, in my option , at best a sales call using privileged information. Finally a bank that works for a 21st Century Business

After years with the 'old guard' taking our money and giving zero innovation in 10 years, moving to Starling made me wonder why we didn't move a long time ago. Reviewed on: 19th March 2021

Such an easy way to change banks

I was filled with dread at the prospect of changing business bank accounts. The last time I did it, some years ago, it went very badly indeed and affected our credit rating for some time. However, I ploughed on after having Starling Bank recommended. This time the experience couldn't have been further from the last one. Everything happened smoothly and easily with no fuss. Since I moved (the end of January 2021) I've found it to be great to use day-to-day. I'm an accountant and so am often asked by clients about bank accounts.
