Non judgemental advice regarding debt

A first class service from start to finish, with wise, kind, knowledgeable staff to guide people through the misery of debt, with the goal of managing finances to be debt free. They were a lifeline to me, in the darkest of times. Reviewed on: 5th June 2020

Debt after Bereavement

Just before my husband died we had to move out of our property which we had to sell at a loss due to the property market at the time and my husbands illness. We had to purchase necessary items and have modifications done to the bungalow we moved into owned by the local council that they wouldn’t pay for, whilst my husband was alive this was manageable but then when he died I couldn’t keep up with the payments and ended up in debt. I contacted StepChange who where brilliant dealing with my creditors and working out a payment plan. With a little bit of luck this will be clear before Christmas this year and I will be back to normal, I can eventually see light at the end of the tunnel Thanks to StepChange. Stepchange started helping us in 2003 when they were called CCCS. Year upon year they stood by our side and helped us work through our debt problems, never judging just being there to help and take away they massive problems and stress we faced.
