Dare to hope,!

I have been very ill with cancer. During my treatments I took my eye off the ball as the saying goes. Was too ill to deal with post and many many calls from people demanding money. I was becoming paranoid about the phone,the postman. Well debts don’t go away I didn’t know where or who to turn to, my life was such a mess, I was even contemplating ending it all. A friend came here and said why don’t we ring Stepchange the debt charity. I had nothing to lose but from that very first call, they made me feel like we can sort this out together and took me through every single step. Every person I spoke with was efficient,nothing was too much trouble, kind and compassionate. Made me feel like perhaps I could live a life. Am not the only person this happens to. Quite a bit of paperwork which I found daunting but even if I was stuck on silly questions I always got a real person to speak with. I can’t praise them high enough Reviewed on: 27th August 2024

Don't hesitate just do it

For years I have been useless with money and always chasing my tail to pay bills. Since I have been with Step Change my life is so much easier. All phone calls and letters from companies I was struggling to pay, have stopped. No interest added to my debts. Finally by December 2021 I will be debt free, and as I can see the end of the tunnel getting closer, the relief is amazing, the staff are very friendly and helpful. I have no problem with recommendation of the service they provide, please be aware that help is available and there is no shame in asking for help, its the first step to a worry free life. Helpful, understanding and knowledgeable

During a low point in my life step change helped me to put things into perspective and enables me to manage my debts. My health had stopped me from working and the stress and worry was impacting me too. Initially went On line and then spoke to an adviser who really understood my situation. After putting the DMP in place I was able to see a way forward. Since then I have done a couple of reviews and remain on track and able to better manage my debts and stress.
