I was a nervous wreck with debts piling up after being made redundant. Stepchange was recommended by a family member and it was the best thing I ever did. They talked me through everything and set up a manageable payment scheme. Reviewed on: 19th May 2024

Debt after Bereavement

Just before my husband died we had to move out of our property which we had to sell at a loss due to the property market at the time and my husbands illness. We had to purchase necessary items and have modifications done to the bungalow we moved into owned by the local council that they wouldn’t pay for, whilst my husband was alive this was manageable but then when he died I couldn’t keep up with the payments and ended up in debt. I contacted StepChange who where brilliant dealing with my creditors and working out a payment plan. With a little bit of luck this will be clear before Christmas this year and I will be back to normal, I can eventually see light at the end of the tunnel Thanks to StepChange. Helped turn our life around

Stepchange started helping us in 2003 when they were called CCCS. Professional & Friendly

I have used step change for 4 years and they are amazing. The yearly budget review helps keep you in the loop of your finances and the staff are very friendly that it's like talling to a friend on the phone. They offer advice on things you had no idea about and 100% of the money you have left to pay for your debts go on your debts no admin fee on top of it. The statements that they send show you how long you have u til you're debt free and they never judge you if you need to add another debt on to your account.
