Stepchange. Life savers for me.

I turned to Stepchange 3-4 years ago when I was at my wits end with escalating interest on my outstanding debt. I had serious health issues, mobility and mentally. I was in a deep depression, knowing there was no way out, and I started having really bad thoughts. I was introduced to Stepchange and given a genuine lifeline, where they assured me "Not to worry, things will be fine" and sure enough I pay a small amount each month and started to believe I could get through this. I still worry but nothing like I had done in the past. I still have a marriage and a life, which is down to Stepchange. My advice is don't be alone in debt and seek help. Reviewed on: 8th May 2026

Discovering Stepchange was life-changing.

Discovering Stepchange was life-changing. Lost earnings during lockdown meant I couldn't keep up with credit card payments and then interest piled on making it completely unmanageable. Step change gave me advice, got all interest frozen and helped me set up an affordable repayment plan. I can't recommend highly enough. Reviewed on: 8th May 2026

Don’t worry about debt !!

Take the first step! You won’t look back!

Step change helped me with debt when I felt trapped and didn’t see any way out. It gave me options of affordable amounts which were annually reviewed with my income & expenditure. They had all communication with my debtors which reduced my anxiety. If I felt my payments were too high to cope with as I was struggling, I could contact them and we could discuss it and see if we could reduce the payment. So happy I took the step to get the help I badly needed. All the support staff are helpful and non judgmental. Make that brave step, you won’t regret it. Reviewed on: 8th May 2026

So glad we contacted Stepchange

The best thing we ever done was to contact Stepchange. The stress we were under financially lessened with they're help.They are understanding and patient, they didn't judge us.
