Retaking control

You've come to the end of your tether, swamped by red letters and final notices. So phone StepChange - one of the best half hours of your life. They sort out what you spend on what, what you owe, what you can afford to pay back after allowances are made for the amount you need to live on. Then they sort out the repayments (through them) and companies listen to them whereas they wouldn't listen to you, because they have standing. And the best bit (apart from the relief of finally doing something positive about things) is that they're a charity and won't charge you a penny. Reviewed on: 23rd April 2017

Debt recovery

Without step change assisting in me repaying my debt, I would have possibly had a breakdown and lost my job. They created a way for me to both pay my debts but also continue to live, taking the pressure from phone calls and emails away me when I was at my most vulnerable.
