Retaking control

You've come to the end of your tether, swamped by red letters and final notices. So phone StepChange - one of the best half hours of your life. They sort out what you spend on what, what you owe, what you can afford to pay back after allowances are made for the amount you need to live on. Then they sort out the repayments (through them) and companies listen to them whereas they wouldn't listen to you, because they have standing. And the best bit (apart from the relief of finally doing something positive about things) is that they're a charity and won't charge you a penny. Reviewed on: 23rd April 2017

My husband was made redundant twice in two years!

My husband was made redundant twice in two years! The last time he was made redundant at the end of the month two days before payday and obvs no wages paid. It was a very stressful time we were depressed. I had two small children and it was also 9 months before our (unpaid) wedding. My parents told me about stepchange and along with their help an the help from my family we were able to come to an arrangement with creditors very quickly and I slept properly for the first time in weeks and when I woke I didn’t have that massive sinking feeling. No More Overwhelm

I can honestly say i was completely overwhelmed by my debts, but Step Change helped me manage my debts withinn my budget. They laid out a workable debt management plan and best of all contacted all my creditors to let them know of my payment plan which kept them from harrassing me constantly. Step change is an incredible company that came to my rescue during a tough time in my life. I was drowning in debt and under immense stress, but when I reached out to them, I was blown away by their efficiency and professionalism. They took my situation, explained everything clearly, and worked smoothly to manage all my debts. They slashed the interest rates and reduced my monthly payments to a manageable amount.
