A solid current account provider....

The Cumberland Building Society punches way WAY above its weight by simply having it's own range of current accounts,given that it's a regional building society... The Cumberland Building Society punches way WAY above its weight by simply having it's own range of current accounts,given that it's a regional building society this is quite astonishing.I have held many different current accounts over the years and the Cumberland Plus account is brilliant,I have a 14.9% overdraft facility (no other current account provider in the UK offers such a low rate!),I have zero fees for using my debit card abroad,a solid app that does everything I need and brilliant customer service & branches to boot!! While the Cumberland current accounts don't presently have instant transaction notifications like a lot of the app based and National providers,this is a minor detail and the benefits of the Cumberland Plus current account FAR outweigh this,if you live within the Cumberland Building Societies operating area I can thoughroughly recommend this simple but effective current account as it provides all that you need to operate your day to day finances at home & abroad. Just awful

I very much regret taking a mortgage out with this building society. Worst lender I’ve encountered in over 30 years. Customer service is non existant.... I very much regret taking a mortgage out with this building society. Worst lender I’ve encountered in over 30 years. Customer service is non existant. They want an insane amount of information when it comes to borrowing anything and then tell me that I can’t afford £5k extra on my mortgage even though my salary just increased by £14k. Good range of Savings options at a fair and competative rate of interest. Ethical and recently awarded B-corp status. Better than any of the so called High Street banks that have abandoned our town..
