2 Claims Backpacking Asia

Nasty cirucmstances dealt with fantastically. I had to make claims when I had Dengue hemhoragic fever and severe food poisoning. The call centre was always quick and effective at raising a case for me and I never had a problem with cover or had to pay the hospitals directly. I even had one incident where the hospital were refusing to treat me without me providing payment before treatment. A TI4M adviser literally read my rights to the hospital explaining their duty of care to me. The staff were trying to extort me, saying they needed assurance that someone would pay if the insurance failed to. The adviser explained they would pay but they would not sign a blank cheque as requested by the hospital. They eventually agreed to treat me and I made a full recovery. Not a nice experience but it could have been much worse without the support of TI4M. I'm very grateful to them. The only way their service could be better is if they had a WhatsApp or other internet based contact number - when you are in the middle of nowhere they almost always have somewhere with WiFi, but not always service for calls. It's also rare to be able to make local or foreign calls when you have a tourist SIM. Luckily I had my home SIM in my phone as well, but this was very costly to make multiple calls - worth the cost of course, but it would have been better and easier with an internet call service. Best deal for existing medical conditions

Needed insurance for existing medical conditions and they came best for price and customer service has been great. Luckily have not had to claim but as always with insurance it's about piece of mind knowing you are covered Reviewed on: 13th September 2025
