Don't go to the Doctor

After being bitten by a tick my doctor recommended a precautionary course of antibiotics. I informed Voyager as required and they said I had to pay an addition sum on top of my annual premium due to the 'added risk'. I refused to pay so now my policy has a specific exclusion for the cancellation or curtailment of a holiday due to one or more insect bites. The terms of the policy actually dissuades you from seeking medical advice as, should you be given a prescription ( heaven forbid ) it immediately becomes a 'medical issue' . I will not be buying my travel insurance from this company again. Reviewed on: 22nd August 2025
