The perfect pet insurance for new pawrents

Having recently adopted our first rescue dog, I spent ages searching for the right pet insurance, trying to understand why you would want to have to choose between lifetime illness cover or annual cover (paying half the price but leaving you zero cover for any new lifetime condition after the first year?!) When I came across Waggel I saw instantly that they were different. They seemed to actually be thinking about what pet owners need from insurance when caring about their pet - we’re not talking house contents here, we’re talking about caring for your four-legged family member! And the prices are affordable! While we thankfully haven’t had to make a claim yet, I have already made use of the free 10min First Vet video consultations included in the monthly subscription. It’s a fantastic service which helped to put our mind at ease when our pup was really poorly with diarrhoea, whilst we were on holiday and couldn’t get to our local vet. Sensible and considered insurance at a decent price

Waggel takes a proactive approach to pet health - access to short video consultations with a vet means I'm far more likely to seek advice without the trials of wrestling an angry cat into a basket and dragging it across London. I'm not sure who gets more stressed, me or the cat, so visits to the vet used to be a last resort. Being able to ask for an opinion on a gunky eye or snotty nose without taking the cat out of his environment is therefore hugely valuable. It means that symptoms are treated well before they become serious, which helps the pet, the owner and the insurer in the long run. The product seems like it's been designed from the bottom up, rather than a template insurance product tweaked to fit the subject, whether it's pets, caravans or a stamp collection. I've recommended Waggel to a few friends now. Not just the access to an online vet, but also because it's user friendly, pricing is visible and sensible, and it feels very obviously run by human beings who care about their pets. It's also succeeded in a friendly tone that hasn't tipped over into the very irritating Innocent-style: the lad down the pub who mistakenly thinks he's everyone's hilarious best mate. Our Sparkle is back!

I reviewed a number of pet insurance companies, and it was a no brainer, the reviews, the cost, the customer service.... our cat ‘Sparkle’ was in trouble, limping and not eating, he was able to fully recover after Waggle helped pay for the vet bills.
