Good service overall, but more human support needed.

I applied for a loan recently and overall the process was straightforward, but I would have appreciated the opportunity to speak with an adviser directly rather than relying entirely on an automated system. As a credit union, I expected a more personalised and community-focused approach, especially because some financial situations cannot be fully explained through online forms alone. For example, my council tax payment is shown as £186 per month from my account because I am the main account holder, but in reality my partner contributes to the majority of this amount and transfers me money every month. My actual personal contribution is around £80. In addition, my salary varies because I work on a rotating schedule with six weeks of shifts followed by two weeks off. My income therefore changes from month to month, so I provided an average figure in my application. These kinds of details can make an important difference when assessing someone’s financial situation, and I feel it would be helpful if applicants had more opportunity to explain them directly to a person.
