Excellent "New Wave" Bank

I opened an account with Cashplus in September 2021, to support a new e-commerce business I started. It has operated perfectly since then, and has cost me nothing. I can keep an eye on the account using my mobile, and if I need a print-out it's not a problem. I don't need a local branch, as all my receipts are via online transfers, but I could still pay cash in if necessary by visiting my local Post Office. I'm told it will integrate with my business accounting system, so I can't think of any negatives. I'd call it "no sweat banking" - leaving me more time to devote to the business. Almost perfect for a new business startup

The biggest selling points for the Cashplus business account for me compared to many other free banks are: 1. Covered by the FSCS protection, many others are not. 2. It is a real bank, unlike some which pretend to be. 3. Has an app and online presence, not just an app on the phone. 4. Fast setup, with account number and sort code next day (I think) and mastercard soon to follow. 5. Integrates well with Freeagent for HMRC MTD compliance. The only real thing I would improve is for it to have 'pots' or sub accounts where you can hide away VAT and Corporation tax as they accrue - these go up really fast. Reviewed on: 26th March 2022
