Brilliant start to life as a bank - superb experience - fun and secure

This new challenger bank was fresh and new. Brilliant security features from day one with voice recognition and face recognition. And whenever you log in it is so clear and quick what your investments are, when they were made and what money you're making. Can't fault. Reviewed on: 21st November 2016

Atom Bank needs to go back to basics

Afrer messing about installing apps and trying to get a saver account open the system tells me I cannot be identified using their checks. One wonders exactly what checks they are using when Tesco Bank, Charter Savings Bank and Metro Bank all managed to identifiy me without any problems. Looks like a work in progress to me- and probably best avoided Reviewed on: 17th November 2016

Poor App

The app has been slow and unresponsive. If your bank is really based on this app there is no future for you unless you hire good programmers. Reviewed on: 16th November 2016

The worst mobile banking app I've ever come across

For the third time, tapping the app brings up a screen "Sorry we were unable to connect and verify the application on your device, please try again". Previous two times this happened, had to delete the app, call the call centre to get a code, re-download app and register afresh, and re-enter boimetrics. This time? No such luck as "we don't give codes out now that we're up and running". So - first call to call centre - "delete the app and re-download it, all will be well" Second call, when this did not work "Are you connected to wifi? Maybe try re-starting your phone". Done that, still cannot get an screen on the app other than a pic of the Head of Compliance and the error message above. This is - without doubt - the worst, most unreliable, digitally-ancient app I have ever come across in my entire life. None of my "dinosaur bank" apps have ever done this, and Atom clearly has a problem on the app update front. See no point in using it - and don't even get me started on the few occasions when I was able to get beyond the error screen and then it would/would not recognise my login. Waste of time. Mighty Atom!

Just opened an Atom account on my iPad.......all went very smoothly......easy to set up and deposit money.. I had one query and once signed up you can access them by phone, which I did, and received very friendly and helpful customer service. I cannot understand the poor reviews on this site. Some complain about no hard copy documents......this is an "e-bank'!!!!!!!..........and I have saved documents to my Mac and then printed off and taken photo of amount saved on iPhone and then printed off via Mac, so if you want hard copies you can have them. Interest rate is as good as I can get at present and so far so good. I have found my experience so far excellent.........and if, at 70 next birthday, I can do it I would have thought those who seem to be complaining and giving low ratings ought to be able to so, also. Is this realy a place to put your money?

I thought that I take advantage of the reasonable 2 year fixed term rates on offer. I installed the app, registered and thought I was ready to go. But no, my name, age and address were rejected by the app. I contacted customer service through the apps chat facility and after a long session the rep agreed that my address did exist and suggested that I entered my details manually (I had already tried this). I have lived at my address for over 25 years and have an unblemished credit record. I have probably been saved a lot of hassle and future heartache by not managing to make a deposit. For example, the app crashed when I tried to edit my profile (even though I did not make any changes). Given other comments about the lack of supporting evidence of a deposit and thus total reliance on the app I would suggest that this is a very dubious bank to give your money to. I'm not intellectually challenged but found the app and customer chat very poor

I set up the app. This was fine. When I tried to open an savings account got a message that what happened should not have happened. Tried again and got same message but the app locked up completely. Tried the chat line for help but it was long-winded and chat person was not reading my messages properly so kept giving poor advice. Deleted the app. Reviewed on: 18th October 2016

No Paper Certificates / Statements

Having saved a significant sum of money with Atom I'm more than a little concerned that I have no independent proof that I deposited a penny with them. No certificate (paper or PDF), no confirmation e-mail, nothing. If there was a hiccup at Atom and the app displayed an 'unknown user error' I'm not sure if I could prove otherwise. When I mentioned my concerns to them I was told to take a screenshot of my savings summary - as if that would prove anything. Recently the Android app started crashing. Dreadful tech

Worst app I've ever come across. A few weeks ago the app update wiped out all my login credentials, meaning I had to call for invitation code and reset all my biometric credentials - now, just 3 weeks later, the app is totally unresponsive following the latest iOS update meaning I had to again call the call centre, get a code, delete the app, re-enter (again) my credentials - the comment about "maybe it's difficult for the intellectually stunted" is ridiculous - this morning's experience merely showed me an error screen with no menu or login options at all. Total, utter shambles from a start-up that boasted about not being trapped by legacy systems like the dinosaur banks... Reviewed on: 28th September 2016

Opened my Fixed Saver 2 days ago -a brilliant fun app - might be a little challenging for the intellectually stunted but the whole experience has been refreshing. Not one problem so far, if you need to speak to a human they are there 24/7 and speak common sense. Can't praise them enough so far. Reviewed on: 21st September 2016
