We have used a business account with Bank of Scotland for over twenty years. At times they have helped us out, but equally at other times they haven't. I think one bank is much like another, and it often depends on the staff in the bank how you get treated. Reviewed on: 8th November 2017

TERRIBLE SET UP PROCESS

PROVED TO BE VERY DIFFICULT TO SET AN ACCOUNT UP. DONE ON LINE AND BY POST THERE WAS CLEARLY A COMPLETE LACK OF COMMUNICATION INTERNALLY. MISTAKES, REPETITION, LOST INFORMATION. UTTERLY HOPELESS. Reviewed on: 4th April 2017

Dreadful account opening process

It took weeks to open a business account. Internal communication at BOS was either completely lacking or of very poor quality. The bank lost information, repeated steps and no-one seemed to be aware, or care, that the process was of such poor quality. Reviewed on: 13th February 2016

Serves what we need

I only use the account for in/out transactions. We don't have any loans or overdrafts or anything like that. The bank was originally set up by our Glasgow office and the only thing that could improve our business banking is by having a local branch in the area. Reviewed on: 20th January 2016

Hopeless Start

Opening a Business Account with Bank of Scotland took weeks. The process was clearly fragmented internally, and was riddled with errors. Same questions asked multiple times, information lost - clearly no internal communication. Simply awful experienced. The only reason I continued with it is I have been a BOS retail customer for forty years, and I felt a strange sense of belonging to BOS. It was an experience I hope I never have to repeat.
