Review of the Bikmo, Cycle insurance:

I feel let down

Unfortunately Bikmo's claim handling was very poor. I had my bike stolen from a bike locker which I thought was insured. I sent all the details needed to make a claim. However my claim was rejected the first time because they said the locker was 'away from home', which it wasn't. Then the 2nd claim got rejected because the bike was not locked to an immovable object (it was locked within a secure immovable object instead). I told bikmo there was no option to lock the bike to an immovable object, but it took several emails and sarcastic comments from a supervisor no less such as 'we made the wording really basic so anyone can understand', implying I couldn't understand the basic wording. Yes my bike claim doesn't match the policy wording, but they could have been much clearer from the beginning and handled this better. I then asked for a refund on my insurance as I was obviously paying insurance on a scheme that didn't apply to me, but again the supervisor didn't even attempt to help and just flat out refused a refund. Would have been nice if he at least attempted to try and support the customer. I feel very let down. Reviewed on: 10th July 2020

I would not insure with anyone else.

I’m not sure I have the words to explain just how good BIKMO are. They are genuinely different. They understand the customer, they put them first, and are ‘on the same page’. I had the misfortune of having a bike stolen in 2016. What I thought would be a complex, time-consuming claim wasn’t. It was straightforward, and I was assisted by someone who understood me, my situation and why I was so upset. I have been a customer a while now, and the support has never wavered. Cycling insurance without jargon!

Taking out our insurance with bikmo was extremely easy. Just listed our bikes, total value and that was it, done! Also spoke to a few members of the team with a question or two, and was clear they’re cyclists too, so knew exactly what I was asking and gave me the feedback I was looking for. First class customer service, nothing to much trouble

I cant recommend Bikmo any higher, they are always extremely helpful any time that I have had to contact them, always extremely knowledgeable and friendly. The website is easy to navigate, straightforward to use and easy to find the information required. The level of cover is perfect for me, my bikes and kit. I have also taken out holiday insurance with them as again I know I would get the best service possible if anything was unfortunately to happen. Just exceptional service from start to finish. Great personal service

New to cycle insurance and with a brand new bike to insure, I spent lots of time speaking to friends & web surfing to find the best all-round product for me. I narrowed it down to two or three providers but still had a few questions. A call to Bikmo settled all my issues with a polite, informative and very helpful agent.
