Home renovations made easier by support from BCU

I was struggling and worrying about where I would afford to pay my home renovations following the purchase of my first home. I looked into Credit Union who I was a member of and decided to request a loan, I was asked to submit documents and answer some questions and had a quick response after a few days that I had been accepted for the loan and the money came to my bank account straight away. I was so happy that I started the work on the property the following day and my worries were over. Thank you so much to Bradford credit union to help me achieve my goal and start work on my house quickly so I can move in sooner. Reviewed on: 7th April 2026

BDCU is a life saver

I'm 70 in a few weeks time. I have run a gardening business for 26 years....and I needed another car about 3 years ago. No other lender wld look at me...except to offer impossible packages. Bradford credit union loaned me the £3,000 I needed. I'm an older woman on my own. As a social scientist for over 20 years, I wonder about both age and gender discrimination. BCU ..bridging the credit gender gap

I'm a pensioner at 69...but I can't afford to retire...and I enjoy my work as a professional self employed gardener. I needed a loan for another car for my gardening business. Bradford credit union were really my only option. Despite owning my home, lenders don't want to know about a single older woman needing a loan, unless I'd been daft enough to sign up for daft interest rates and unrealistic repayment conditions. Not only can I afford a BCU loan, but I save as well....and my customers continue to have my gardening services, and I have a decent standard of living while remaining physically and economically active....and I provide a community service.
