By Miles charge a fixed cost that covers a car while it’s parked. The rest is based on the actual miles driven. Customers can either plug in the matchbox-sized Miles Tracker, or for newer cars, you can connect By Miles directly with your car’s mileometer.

Just what I need

I normally do low mileage with the occasional longer trip and By Miles exactly matches what I need without having to worry about keeping track of my mileage or paying for miles I haven't driven. In addition I have found their customer service to be efficient, helpful and friendly when I have had any queries. I would definitely recommend checking them out if you do low mileage. A pleasure to review my new insurance, it gives you the opportunity to lower your car insurance cost, the less you drive the cheaper it is, like for most elderly drivers we have had to pay high insurance rates, if we drive 10000 miles or 2000 miles we had to pay the same, now you have a choice, stay with your old insurer and pay more each year or change to By Miles car insurance and enjoy paying less, a lot less. PS with the By Miles mile tracker on board you know where your car is if you forgot where you parked it haha... Reviewed on: 18th August 2022

Living in London, I use my car sporadically which brings the annual cost in below or close to what other providers offer on renewal. Also the ability to partially spread cost across the year helps with budgeting Reviewed on: 18th August 2022

great value for money and at the end you could even get unused miles in money back

I was very impressed by the car insurance quotes. I kept worrying that there will be "extras" added on but that was not so. The monthly payment is also so much less than I ever imagined.
