By Miles charge a fixed cost that covers a car while it’s parked. The rest is based on the actual miles driven. Customers can either plug in the matchbox-sized Miles Tracker, or for newer cars, you can connect By Miles directly with your car’s mileometer.

Great value for a retiree!

I am a low mileage driver circa 3.5k

I am a low mileage driver circa 3.5k miles per year. Recently had a driver removed the side and front of my car whilst parked. Called customer service claims and all was taken care of instantly , hire car and repairs arranged same day Reviewed on: 18th August 2025

Great if you work from home

As I work from home, and work in sustainability/climate change, I try to limit my car usr as much as possible. Paying per mile helps me save money but also helps me limit the impact I have on the warming planet. Reviewed on: 18th August 2025

A policy that actually suits MY needs!

It's good to be able to pay per miles actually using the yearly miles allowance for me as I dont generally travel very far per week. I shouldn't have to pay the same as someone with an identical car who does thousands of miles per year. This policy suits my needs and life perfectly. An additional bonuse is the plug in, so I know how many miles I travel as well as the car clinic so I can access the car ECU from my phone to look at any faults and codes from indoors - if there are any... very happy with this policy Reviewed on: 18th August 2025

Incredibly cost-effective

This has been incredibly cost-effective for me. I drive a few long trips a year, but mostly try and leave my car at home. I end up paying about half of what my friends do for car insurance, and it prompts me to think more about whether I need to drive, or if I could just walk or just jump on my bike.
