By Miles charge a fixed cost that covers a car while it’s parked. The rest is based on the actual miles driven. Customers can either plug in the matchbox-sized Miles Tracker, or for newer cars, you can connect By Miles directly with your car’s mileometer.

Before insuring my car with " By Miles " i used to dread the "renewal" time of year , all the hassell of inflated quote after quote. Not anymore ! Great for low mileage drivers

Having retired, I use my car less and I was looking for insurance that reflected that. By Miles is the ticket. It monitors my usage and the monthly premium is calculated. The charge per mile is give up front, so I am always aware of the costs. You pay an up front premium for the year, which is reasonable and not expensive. I have always found the agents online very helpful, and it has been easy to amend my details, like adding another driver, or changing the car. The transponder/tracking device is easy to fit. For 10 years, I've always felt like I was overpaying for my car insurance. The concept behind By Miles is something that the industry should have been doing ages ago and I'm glad it is now a reality. After being quoted ridiculous amounts from other insurers, by miles has been a godsend. I pay far less a month than I was before and I can track all the miles I’ve driven through the app. Also, before I signed up I called to ask a few questions and nothing was too much trouble.
