By Miles charge a fixed cost that covers a car while it’s parked. The rest is based on the actual miles driven. Customers can either plug in the matchbox-sized Miles Tracker, or for newer cars, you can connect By Miles directly with your car’s mileometer.

An aid to budget & energy economy

This is my second year with By Miles, the first restricted by the pandemic, this second much less so with one month already over the planned monthly figure, and another looking to be the same. However, the biggest benefit for me is that By Miles keeps me aware of this, a constant reminder to take and maintain control over car costs balancing excessive months with restricted ones, stopping all the little trips that add an unexpectedly large number of miles and fuel costs to the monthly total, and to my personal footprint. If you're not doing many miles, it makes sense. This way I'm happier to keep a car available to me whilst it motivates me to limit its use to "when necessary" - and I keep fitter too! Renewal price was good. Reviewed on: 10th August 2022

I love that I am saving money, and am more aware of the miles I drive so that makes me think of being greener more. I also like the record of where I have been in the app. There is nothing I dont like about this insurance! Reviewed on: 10th August 2022

Wonderful reduction for low mileage drivers where insurance premium for those who need a car as a convenience can still afford to run one. An added benefit is to make you consider the environment, and so consider other means of travel depending on journey length. Reviewed on: 10th August 2022
