By Miles charge a fixed cost that covers a car while it’s parked. The rest is based on the actual miles driven. Customers can either plug in the matchbox-sized Miles Tracker, or for newer cars, you can connect By Miles directly with your car’s mileometer.

ByMiles came up on a comparison site as being one of the cheapest when I was due to renew my car insurance. Having not heard of them I was dubious but I’m so pleased I went with them. It’s been easy to set up and to change my address when I moved. I recommended them to a friend and got my free miles. Fortunately I’ve had no accidents so don’t know what their claims service is like but with everything I’ve seen so far I’m really very impressed. I’ve even recommended them to my Nan. The service is great and quite cheap, perfect for me now that I only drive when I drive and not every day/weekend. By miles saved me few hundreds of pounds compared to other insurance company quotes. I do not always drive my vehicle and only require to pay for the amount of miles I drive, the basic fee for when the car is parked is also cheap.
