By Miles charge a fixed cost that covers a car while it’s parked. The rest is based on the actual miles driven. Customers can either plug in the matchbox-sized Miles Tracker, or for newer cars, you can connect By Miles directly with your car’s mileometer.

Perfect for infrequent drivers

As someone who only really uses the car at the weekend, it makes so much sense to only pay by the mile. This was by far the cheapest insurance, and just added a little extra cost to longer journeys which was easy to plan for.
