Ethical, and so Supportive !

I love saving with a building society that does specific, practical things for the environment, and for housing (both so badly needed). Ethical - no investments in bombs or fossil fuels! The people who work for it are lovely! When I ring up to ask questions, I always get patient, friendly help and clear answers. Sure, the interest rate offered is modest - but this is outweighed by the peace of mind Ecology Building Society offers its customers. Reviewed on: 10th November 2024

Friendly, caring and ethical on every level.

As a member of many years, I have always found the Ecology to be brilliant. The members of staff deal with every issue with professional caring and friendly concern. The society embodies its principles, ensuring the carbon footprint of the building, their transactions and investments are as small as possible. They keep in contact with their members with informative newsletters and fascinating talks at their AGMs, which inevitably offer inspiration. Belonging to them, feels like being more than a number on a spreadsheet. They make you feel like a person, who is part of something very special. I have complete trust in their integrity and 'green credentials', as they have been there since the beginning and the whole society is founded on the very best ethical principles. Ethical, ecologically sound and genuinely friendly

We've had savings accounts with Ecology for more than 30 years (and a mortgage for 17 of them). The accounts offer good rates and are straightforward; EBS staff are friendly, understanding, always helpful and available. I am happy to know that EBS own operations and their lending policies mean that our money is helping make our world a better place and never funding its destruction. Reviewed on: 11th March 2021

Personal service

When I was abroad on holiday my house was burgled. I did not know if the thieves had stolen my pass book or not. The staff put all my accounts on hold till I got back and was able to check. Great for peace of mind. The staff at The Ecology are able to be flexible and appropriate to the needs of their customers. Reviewed on: 11th March 2021

I like to see how my savings are being used to good effect

The way that the Society keeps members informed of how funds are being used successfully in the context of the Society's aims is excellent. Communications generally are of a very high standard.
