This is definitely not a bank that cares... There is mention in their advertising that this is a bank that cares, but this has proved to be far removed from the truth. Reviewed on: 17th February 2024

I am about to close my account

I had my personal bank account with Halifax for over six years. Decided to apply for a personal loan with my outstanding credit rating and the bank declined. When questioned the reason why, they claimed that I have not been with them for long enough. M&S bank, the one I have been using to pay my bills for the past year, provided me with the money. They also provided brilliant customer service. I will stick with them and close my account with Halifax - they do not deserve my custom! I prefer professionalism. Reviewed on: 13th November 2016

Affordable Stress-free Personal Loan

Very helpful customer service. even though i have good credit a lot of companies didn't give me a loan due to the fact that I worked two part-time jobs, which I think they thought was unreliable income. Halifax listened to my situation carefully and were happy to provide the loan. The repayments are very reasonable and they come out of my account via direct debit which is very stress-free. On my internet banking it is also very easy to see how much has been paid off. Reviewed on: 18th May 2016

FLEXIBLE AND EASY

Never Aloan

Had to take out a personal loan and found the customer service and speed very handy. As an existing customer the process was quick and smooth allowing me to take repayment holidays when I need. Recommended. Reviewed on: 21st April 2016

No help whatsoever when needed - twice now

Personal loan refused as we wantd it to consolidate a few loans. If we'd opted for a new kitchen and asked for the money they would have given it to us. As we got a loan for new kitchen elsewhere they wouldn't consolidate it with our low mortgage. useless, no help whatsoever. Been a customer for over 50 years, since little both of us.
