Competitive rates, excellent customer service

Welcome phone call to acknowledge receipt of application for a savings account. My only comment is that the Society asks for hardcopy applications rather than the online application process offered by many competitors, and issue of a passbook is definitely a traditional - perhaps outdated - business model, though no doubt welcome to customers that are less digitally confident Reviewed on: 23rd November 2023

Really great service from Mandy from the moment my call was answered to the point, a few hours later, where I had completed my application for a new savings Bond. Nothing was too much trouble and timescales were flexed to accommodate me. Very much appreciated, and great to see that face-to-face customer service is still valued and prized at HRBS. I would highly recommend the Hinkley and Rugby Building Society. I recently opened a saving account and the process was quick, easy and efficient ( and a great rate ) . From start to finish it took less than 48 hours to make the application, deposit the money and have all the necessary checks completed. I made the application by mail and received a phone call from customer service the next morning advising me that my application had been received and would be processed that day. Great service. The manager at the Rugby branch was so friendly, efficient and professional. The service was excellent. We went there for a fixed rate savings deal , we were new customers and they made us feel very welcome and made the process smooth. Kids Saver Accounts

I had telephoned the Hinckley branch with questions regarding the kids saver accounts & was impressed with the way my questions were dealt with. Because of this I visited the branch that morning to open four accounts for my grandchildren. Jamie was very helpful & courteous, it wasn’t a problem to open all four accounts that day & I didn’t get rushed. I was also given a free book for each grandchild which is a lovely story to encourage saving, the oldest grandchildren have loved reading the book already. The Hinckley & Rugby weren’t my first choice of building society/bank but because they were more helpful & welcoming than my original choice they were the ones who I decided to invest with.
