Good logical process to obtain correct cover

Obtaining the necessary cover inclusive of existing medical conditions proved to be generally OK, however the reason I am only giving them a 4 star review is the addition of an extra charge for cruising even though we were merely traveling on an inland river cruise, hardly a great cause for concern compared to the very large sea going liners. Do you always think that when it comes to renewal time "Why have we paid for travel insurance all these years & never needed it? Well recently, on a trip to the Canary Islands, we did. I was hospitalised with pneumonia & my wife, who has Parkinson's had to manage the situation from our hotel. This is where Holidaysafe sprang into action - quite literally. The tour company ( name & address supplied) reps were quite useless - we thought they would be the first to help. It was the people @ Holidaysafe/Collinsons who sorted everything, & there was a lot to sort. On our safe return to the UK we submitted our claim for the extra costs we had incurred & this was settled, without question, within 3 weeks. So, you may think "Why pay", but trust us, you never know & if & when you need it you'll be so glad you did. Reviewed on: 19th September 2024
