Review of the H&T, Pawnbrokers:

Tag Heuer Watch

Saw a lovely Tag Heuer watch in the window of their Bolton branch for £995. Went inside to try it on and was advised I needed to have a photo ID. So I drove home, got my passport, went back to the shop and tried on the watch. I loved it and agreed to purchase it. Got to the till and was advised that they had displayed the wrong price and it was actually £2600.00 (big difference). They wasted my whole afternoon. Complained to head office and was advised they would sell me the watch for £2400 as a good will gesture. I fail to see any good will in charging me £2400 for a watch which was priced at £995. I wrote a complaint to their complaints team, as the advised and chased this after 4 weeks. They advised me their timescales are upto 8 weeks, so after 8 weeks I chased again and was advised there is nothing more they are prepared to do. I will never deal with these people again and I would advise everyone else to avoid them. Reviewed on: 3rd December 2024

Excellent Service

Following a house move we found various items of jewellery that had not been worn for years and to be fair would remain in a drawer until the next move. In this instance I wanted to part with a Gentleman’s wrist watch and rather than go through the hassle of eBay opted to take it to H&T. Our sales lady, Debbie, was friendly and knowledgeable about the type of watch that I was selling, she explained the sales process and asked for a history of the watch. Debbie took pictures of the watch that were sent to their head office for validation and 30 mins later made me an offer much higher than I was expecting. Both my partner and I were impressed with the professional service received and will definitely use H&T again. Reviewed on: 5th May 2019
