I had a generally positive experience with Lemonade. The claims process was quite straightforward and easy to follow, and communication was clear throughout. After submitting my claim, it was reviewed in a reasonable time, and I was kept updated along the way. I appreciated how simple and digital the whole process was, without needing too much back and forth. The claim was ultimately resolved and I appreciate that this was achieved in the end. However, the process itself was quite stressful and involved a lot of back‑and‑forth to clarify items that had already been explained and evidenced. This made what should have been a straightforward contents claim more time‑consuming than necessary. Clearer communication and fewer repeated requests would have made the experience much smoother. I’ve had a positive experience with Lemonade contents insurance. I have contents cover with them, and it’s done exactly what I need—simple, straightforward, and easy to manage through the app. The sign-up process was quick, pricing felt competitive, and it’s reassuring knowing my belongings are covered. I’m leaving Lemonade because of my claims experience with Judith. My water damage claim was ultimately approved, but only after a stressful and unnecessarily adversarial process. From the start, Lemonade required evidence of the source of the leak, including a plumber/expert report. But when I followed that instruction, Judith repeatedly refused to confirm cover for the plumber/inspection costs and effectively created a catch-22: I needed evidence to proceed, but Lemonade would not recognise the reasonable cost of obtaining that evidence. Before the independent plumber’s report was available, Judith also wrote that she would temporarily close my claim because she had not heard from me, even though I was waiting for the very report Lemonade had requested. Once the report confirmed that the leak came from the upstairs unit and that my floor was damaged, Lemonade eventually approved the claim for the floor, while still refusing the plumber costs. What bothered me most was the contrast in tone. The emails were full of friendly emojis, “lovely day” language, and review requests, but when it came to the actual claim, the handling felt rigid, premature, and dismissive. Insurance is only useful when something goes wrong. In my case, the experience made me feel I had to argue basic policy and legal points myself just to get the claim assessed properly. Lemonade markets itself as simple, fair, and customer-friendly. My experience with Judith was the opposite. That is why I am leaving Lemonade. Reviewed on: 5th May 2026

Excellent policy at a reasonable price

I have not made a claim in a long long time but Lemonade asked all the relevant questions and made it quite quick and easy to claim but at the same time making sure it was a genuine claim. Reviewed on: 3rd May 2026

Fairly straightforward claims process

Relatively straightforward claims process, just a little fiddly having to upload pic/vids by the app only - the should also be available through Lemonade's website, but a relatively painless claims process and paid out in just 10 days. Very good customer service with regular updates on claim progression. Reviewed on: 26th April 2026
