A Regular Savings Account is opened automatically when you join Manchester Credit Union. Savings must be made on a regular basis, either weekly, fortnightly or monthly and withdrawals can be made via the App or Members Area.

Savings Account for rainy days

I have beem with Manchester Credit Union for about 6 years. I save a small amount each month and it gives me a lot of peace of mind. I can see my savings grow online, I feel rest assured that if I need to use my savings I can withdraw them without any hassle and know that if I needed extra money I could apply for a credit union loan. Their website is simple to use and provides all the information I need. As an extra bonus every saver is provided with generous life insurance. The life insurance doubles your savings deposits in case of your death to help love ones pay for funeral expenses. Reviewed on: 18th May 2022

Easy way to save as it comes straight from salary.

Easy way to save as it comes straight from salary. Straightforward and instant withdrawals on the app. Haven't used a branch yet but there is one local to me if I need to. Always nice to be able to do things face to face if necessary which is rare nowadays. Reviewed on: 29th April 2026

Saving is a great option ...

Helps me achieve my goals.

MCU helps me keep my emergency pot away from my everyday account but access is uber easy; if needed. Allows for that out of sight, out of mind; unless actually needed. So there is very little chance of dipping in for everyday or impulse shopping. Loan rates are great and easy to apply for. Staff have been excellent whenever required. Reviewed on: 29th April 2026

Ups and Downs of Manchester Credit Union

I find Mcr Credit Union good as it offers a good rate of interest. However, I find it difficult to transfer money between different accounts (from mine to that of my niece). And to transfer money in from my bank account. Reviewed on: 28th April 2026
