In 5 years of having a mortgage with The Melton have never been able to call heir customer service line and actually speak to someone directly. You have to leave your contact details and they call you back hours or evens days later. There is no online facility for checking details of your mortgage and if you need any information you have to call to request. It is generally an archaic level of service. DIRE CUSTOMER SERVICE - DIRE SAVINGS & MORTGAGE RATES

Bank Rate reduced by 0.25% but mortgage rate remains at 5.69% DESPITE a drop of Savings Interest rate of 0.5% to 3.5% DO NOT TAKE OUT A MORTGAGE OR INVEST SAVINGS WITH THIS UNPRINCIPLED BUILDING SOCIETY Reviewed on: 12th August 2024

Wholeheartedly recommend

I've been with the Melton for about 7/8 years now and I wouldn't want to go anywhere else. So helpful, so flexible, and you get to speak to real people, not just computerised voices. MELTON WAS A GREAT BUILDING SOCIETY.... BUT NO MORE!!!!

I have been a Melton mortgagee for 24 years and despite that the offering now I am due to remortgage is VERY POOR> While they claim to provide better terms for existing customers, this is not the case! With their withdrawal of the OFFSET FACILITY and increased costs of early repayments in addition to interest rates which are HIGH despite rates generally going down, they are NOT competitive. I have had good service/support/mortgage rates for 24 years but recent changes to their 'Business Model' has removed the benefits of dealing with them! VERY DISAPPOINTING AND QUITE SAD!!!! You always get good customer services and are always contacted when your mortgage discount rate is coming to an end in order for another discount scheme to be put in place. Reviewed on: 28th February 2024
