Opened a joint account in record time with no un-wanted sales spiel!

Hubby and I needed (for the first time ever) a joint account. We went to Lloyds, as between us we had 7 different accounts there already (he'd been there since about 1968, me since about 1987) We'd been married for 27 years, never moved house, never changed employment, never changed name/sex or anything. Lloyds knew *everything* possible, finanically, about us. .... they wanted 90 mins(!) to 'make sure we were who we said we were'... (they knew EVERYTHING already) No they didn't, they just wanted to play ADVERT after Advert for things we didn't want or need. When we said "stop" we just want a joint account , *nobody* had the authority or sense just to give us what we wanted (even after telling them how much money would be deposited in said account....) So we pulled the nuclear option and walked out. Walked straight into the local Metro branch (who had never clapped eyes on us before) and they took about 35-40 mins just to do all neccessary identity checks WITHOUT spending an extra hour trying to sell us unwanted financial crap. So the Metro got the deposit of a third of a million. :-) Reviewed on: 10th March 2023

Humble staff , quick service , quickly prints debit credit card whenever need , quick cash deposit and withdrawal.
