Highly recommend Rooster for a 1st bank account

My child's Rooster account is perfect for starting their journey to financial maturity. They have access to a card, app and it is very clear what they're getting money for, as well as having savings pots they can set up for various things they want. As a parent, I love the fact that I can monitor what they spend money on, but also like the fact that it's very clear what they're earning money for, down to each chore. There are a couple of downsides, for example, the card can't be put on Apple Pay / Google Wallet, and payments into the account can only be made from the parent's account, but these are not big issues for a child account Reviewed on: 19th April 2025

Best value for money

The NatWest rooster cards are fabulous! They make it quick and easy to transfer money to my children incase of an emergency, teach my children about money management and in comparison to other children’s bank cards are the best value for money! We used to have GoHenry account for the children but it ended up being expensive to keep the accounts going! Banking with NatWest myself has enabled me to set up rooster accounts for my children for free! Staff are always super helpful, friendly and approachable too! Reviewed on: 19th April 2025

We interect on the Rooster App with setting chores and allocating funds into the accounts. Our children then use the App to track available funds and set saving goals. They enjoy the idependence of having their own cards with great designs. Reviewed on: 19th April 2025
