Dreadful experience. Avoid these scammers

Dreadful experience. We have been trying to release our Child Trust Fund for over 6 weeks and every time we ask for an update, we are met with lies, delay tactics and false promises. "We will investigate", "Your money has been released so it should be in your account by the end of the day" This company is dodgy and untrustworthy. What's the point in having a Financial Services Authority when companies like this have been getting away with this exact behavior for years. I found reviews dating back 3 years sharing EXACTLY the same experience as mine. Reviewed on: 24th July 2024

Will not let you withdraw your own money!

1
When I received access to my child trust fund I decided to leave part of the money with OneFamily in a lifetime ISA and a stocks and shares ISA. Since then (5years ago) both accounts have lost value overall. Therefore I decided to withdraw and close my account. However, OneFamily have made this impossible. I have so far been trying to withdraw my own money for a year. The first problem was that it was being withdrawn to a different bank account than what it was put in with. Bear in mind the money was deposited 25 years ago by my parents I find this hardly surprising. After overcoming this obstacle and providing them with countless documents following excuse after excuse I have now been told I cannot withdraw as it’s not to a ‘traditional high street bank’ (Starling). I have no other debit account so now will have to open a new bank and use it so I can provide statements until I can try again. Worst company I’ve ever dealt with- have practically accepted I will never actually be able to access my own money. Reviewed on: 15th July 2024

From day one they have made managing my son's child trust fund impeccably easy. They are brilliant on the phone, always keep me updated with letters and emails. When my son became eighteen they made the process of my son taking over the running and ownership of his child trust fund really easy.... Excellent Reviewed on: 23rd May 2024

Appalling service

After two months of supplying all of the correct information, my son is still waiting for his trust fund. One Family made two failed attempts at the transfer. How difficult is it for a financial institution to make an international bank transfer? No apology, no contact from them. We have had to call them constantly and still no money. Appalling.
