Using the better off calculator with our participants has been a real God send. I've listed below just a few of the benefits I've found from using them in my job. - See your full true income – adds wages, remaining benefits, tax and costs like childcare, so you know exactly what you keep - No guesswork – cuts through complicated rules to give you simple, accurate numbers - Prove working pays – shows you keep more extra money than you might expect - Find extra support – highlights help you can still get while working, like Council Tax Reduction or childcare support - Plan with confidence – test different hours or pay to see what works best for you - Spot long-term gains – shows how work builds your pension and future earning power - No more worry – clear answers mean you know you won’t end up worse off. Very good tool to help support clients as a voluntar...

Very good tool to help support clients as a voluntary organisation but must remain free to access for voluntary organisations. Our experience is that after a while then the providers make it pay access only which defeats the objective. Reviewed on: 13th July 2026

I used the system as part of my work. It was taken away by my employer due to financial consideration and replaced by another system that was not usual friendly. I was of the advocates that we must have this vital tool back and we now have it back. Reviewed on: 13th July 2026

I have used Better Off Calculator for over three years now, the places that I work have tried others and keep coming back to this because it is easy to use and talks you through calculation. I use this programme for work. It is easy to use. Find the "Your Bills" a good tool. Being able to switch from monthly to weekly helpful for clts. Although not used the "Budget" tab looks like it would be an advantage to clts. Great to have a system that compares scenarios - good for clts. Have only had to use their Help once and they were very quick in responding. Reviewed on: 13th July 2026
