The better off calculator has been a great tool for providing our participants with knowledge that they would otherwise not be aware of. It is a clear and accurate demonstration of how they will be financially better of in full time work than claiming Universal Credits. I have been a benefit adviser with Citizens Advice and Local Authorities for the past five years and have found Policy in Practise to always be the most clear and user friendly benefit check calculator, especially in such a complex area of advice. This is a tool I have used many times to help people check their eligibility and plan accordingly based on various scenarios - it is a huge help for myself and my client's.
