Overall, Saffron is good but frustrating to contact. The procedure for registering for on-line access is extremely tedious, far more than any other bank which I have registered with. However I would highlight Jess Morton as an outstandingly patient and competent member of your staff and she has gone a long way to my staying as a customer. Reviewed on: 30th May 2025

Superb, helpful attitude from telephone staff

My spouse and I have had savings accounts with Saffron for 10 years+. They are regularly in the top quartile for rates, and we've always found them fair to customers in that respect. Until the last year or two I've had little reason to contact anyone as in fairness I would only do so if things weren't straightforward, and they have been. Yesterday I found I had made an error in setting up an ISA account, and called them. Lauryn could not have been more helpful, and went further than I could have expected in correcting errors in our two ISA accounts. This is in contrast to experiences with some other providers where the attitude is often more "can't do" than "can do". In the last 18 months I've had to call the client services team more than once, and I can't fault the people I've spoken to, even when the matter(s) in question have been difficult on occasion. My 9 out of 10 is because I'm not convinced that systems whch have been changed in the last 2 years have been changed with customers' preferences in mind, and it is only the actual one-to-one experiences like yesterday's which keep me coming back to Saffron.
