Whilst their pricing is competitive, they seem to have almost no one available to answer simple queries. I had an issue confirming NCB's with them and had to call multiple times to try and get through but the line cuts off before you reach the support team ; one has a sense the system is entirely automated so is unable to cope with an inquiry - and that's as a a new customer. RIP OFF PRICES

They sent me renewal email wanting £945 for third party fire and theft for 2015 Volvo V40. This is an increase from £897. I am 62 yrs old. Swiftcover £588. SAY NO MORE. Use Go Compare Reviewed on: 14th August 2024

Poor Sercice and Communications.

Beware

Policy start July on a 1.7 car. paying £105 a month. Changed to a smaller one in Aug, Car died so changed again 17/11/23. Including admin fee, policy went up by £218. Agreed to increase direct debit to £110 a month for the rest of policy, confirmed in writing to me. They took payment on £110. ON 5/12/23 decided I had to pay £218 and have lower direct debit amounts, in under 10 days or policy cancels. Will not accept that included in my payment on 1/12/23, was 1/8 of the £218 they want. They say that has to be used to lower my direct debits Jan - July. Reviewed on: 6th December 2023

Will not provide a no claim certificate

I found a better quote for my new car and switched car insurance company. However, sainsburys wont provide evidence of my no claims - the call centre staff say it's a 'back-office' job and gave me an email, but the 'back office' never reply. I have now had to pay for my new insurance as if I didn't have no claims - not worth the risk of insuring your car with this terrible company. Reviewed on: 17th October 2023

Don't waste your time phoning Sainsbury's call centre for a quote as they ask all the information and then cut you with no return call.They knew my number as they had asked for all my information.Don't know why call centre keep you waiting ages to answer your call and then say you can do this online.This company just to get a quote was very rude and come across very uninterested, would not bother giving my time with Sainsbury's bank again. Sainsbury's Bank Car Insurance

I purchased car insurance online through Sainsbury's Bank in July 2023. The policy looked fine, and the cost was very reasonable and Sainsbury's are a trusted household name. I recently upgraded my mobile phone and somehow managed to lose, amongst other things, most of my emails, importantly the welcome email from Sainsbury's Bank which included my web reference policy number. So I cannot log in to my Sainsbury's Bank online portal to make a claim as I do not have the web reference number which is required to log in. So I phoned them, 6 times. Without exception they are always experiencing heavy volumes of calls (perhaps not enough staff at the "24/7" claims call centre?) On average I waited 50 minutes to an hour and was then disconnected. I did manage to actually speak to someone on one occasion who politely and promptly transferred me to another department after about 3 or 4 minutes I was disconnected. To say the customer service is abysmal is an understatement. Based on the cost of the policy I was not expecting a bells and whistles customer service, but hoped for at least some form of response when making a claim. You learn by your mistakes, very disappointed in Sainsbury's. Reviewed on: 27th August 2023

Swapped policy from lv to Sainsburys car insurance. All went well , until I received a email saying car insurance would be cancelled unless I could confirm my no claims. I had uploaded information which my previous insurance said would be ok . So I rang them up eventually spoke to someone. I downloaded more information about no claims and cancelled policy. But every time I did this . He had to ask someone else if they would except it . Gave in asked for manager /make a complaint. May as well have talked to the wall . Extremely poor service . Had to ring my old insurance lv who were extremely helpful. Going back to lv insurance. Sainsburys car insurance service is non existent.Don’t bother.(Imagine if you had to make a claim ) sooo frustrating. Reviewed on: 24th August 2023
