Encouraging independence

I am a firm believer in encouraging independence where possible. My daughter age 10 has her own front door key, her own phone (with family and her school friends only on it), and now a Kite card. It gives her responsibility for her own money, and she knows she has to budget if she wants to buy a few things, for example at Christmas, and it has vastly brought her up to speed with mental arithmetic! These are critical life skills that shouldn't be underestimated. She is proud to have her own bank card, and traders are amazed at her maturity. She is the first of her peer group to have access to her own money, and I am delighted that Kite exists! Reviewed on: 16th March 2023

Easy to use with friendly APP

I use Starling bank mainly because I like the Kite function. It has the lowest management fee without too many restrictions when I use it. My kids like it as having their own bank card making them feel like grown ups. I like it as I can see every transaction that my kids made and locked the card, set the limit as I like to. Best card for kids

My 7 and 10 year old both have kite cards, they work for everything a child could need it for, online gaming, buying from shops, subscriptions and its affordable for parents. Transfering money in and out of the account is easy, can't recommend this card highly enough Reviewed on: 16th March 2023

Simple, effective and receptive!
