Effortless and allows me to remain in charge

Managing my daughter’s Kite account is really easy, as I can do it within my usual Starling banking app, which allows me to effortlessly transfer funds in or out, set up a standing order for her pocket money and so on. What I love about it the most though, is that it gives me the ability to remain in charge of her finances, which not many other accounts for teenagers offer. I receive instant notifications of her purchases, I can set spending limits, and even restrict access or take away her full balance, should she misbehave and deserve such radical action. Yes, many other providers offer free accounts, but the parent then has no control over what happens with the money they generously put into their kid(s) account. My daughter is only 13, so doesn’t yet have a job and all of her money is generated by my deposits. So, until that changes, I believe I should be able to retain some level of regulation and the monthly cost levied by Starling Bank is a small price to pay, in my opinion. Just a superb bank compared to the competition

I love the fact that one debit card serves two purposes as a Euro card and as a sterling card. Not only that, but the card knows which currency is which, unlike, say, Google pay. Reviewed on: 10th February 2022
