Caring Company

Took the Fear Away...

Yes that's what Stepchange did for me! I had incurred credit card debt, yes, like a lot of people, but when my DLA was changed to PIP and I lost the whole lot I could not pay my minimum amounts due each month. I remain disabled enough to have a Blue Badge by the way but the government disagrees! Anyway after asking my High Street Bank for a debt consolidation loan (and being refused that also...) I tried Stepchange in desperation. I could see no way out until Stepchange arranged a schedule of repayments for my creditors which I could afford. It has been running for 2 and 1/2 years now and I can manage to increase the payments each review (12 monthly) which reduces the time I will be in debt. I am aware that my credit is shot for 6 years, but honestly do I want any more credit? NO! Thank you Stepchange for allowing me to sleep at night, unlike the High Street Bank who were no help to me whatsoever..... Reviewed on: 23rd July 2021

The team are a ray of sunshine

My husband lost his job, we had bills piling up. I was worried, scared and the hardest thing to do was pick up the phone. The lady informed me that evening would be alright. And it was staff are always helpful and sort everything out. It was like a weight had been lifted off my shoulders,everything was sorted. Many thanks to the kind, helpful, and knowledgeable staff. Life-saver!

I dread to think what my circumstances would be like without StepChange. During the pandemic I experienced a significant loss of income which impacted on my credit responsibilities. The support and advocacy I received from StepChange meant that I was able to manage this and find a solution that worked for everyone.
