Saved my bacon and keeps me sane

I was struggling like a drowned rat until I first spoke to someone at Step Change who listened so carefully to me. I feel so relieved that I put the financial mess I'd made into their hands to sort me out. I wish I had done it years earlier. Life changing

I was so worried didn't know where to start getting my affairs in order. Each company wanted too much I couldn't see a way forward. Step change explained everything and showed me the way to an affordable payment plan I could afford & stick with. Excellent customer service. Thank you Step Change!*

Before finding out about Step Change my life was so miserable. I constantly worried about my horrendous debts and couldn't sleep at night, due to turning things over and over in my head. I was terrified about what my husband would say, if he found out what was going on. He already had health problems and I feared hearing about how much I owed would only make him worse. I knew nothing about my options and genuinly believed, I would be sent to prison. Or bailiffs would turn up and strip the house bare. Thanks to Step Change, I managed to set up a DMP and have now been paying off my debts for the past 2 years. It is such a relief to me and I no longer have the constant worry of how much I owe. Yes, I have to be on a budget to pay my DMP every month. But it is no where near as tough as when I was juggling one credit card after another, just to make the minimum payments every month. A Life Changing Organisation

From the first phone call I made, I have always felt supported and never judged. I've felt such shame around getting into debt but Step Change have been there to help me on my journey.
