Retaking control

You've come to the end of your tether, swamped by red letters and final notices. So phone StepChange - one of the best half hours of your life. They sort out what you spend on what, what you owe, what you can afford to pay back after allowances are made for the amount you need to live on. Then they sort out the repayments (through them) and companies listen to them whereas they wouldn't listen to you, because they have standing. And the best bit (apart from the relief of finally doing something positive about things) is that they're a charity and won't charge you a penny. Reviewed on: 23rd April 2017

My experience with StepChange has been life changing.

My experience with StepChange has been life changing. After a couple of failed marriages and trying to set up a new home with my youngest daughter, i quickly found myself in debt and struggling to repay money i had borrowed , whether through the bank or credit cards. Income was limited as a single parent. I spoke to StepChange and within a short space of time i had my finances under control. They were so easy to deal with and very understanding. Best advice ever

What made me happy was to be able to speak to a professional who listened to my problems regarding to debt that was draining me. They were able to put me on a plan in which to help me me repay an amount of money towards my debts and that gave me a piece of mind. I have now found the courage to tell my partner and daughters. Forever grateful to Step Change.

I will always be grateful to Step Change. I am coming to the end of a DMP when years ago I couldn’t ever see myself being debt free. After finishing uni and starting my working life in debt I never thought I would free from it, Step Change showed me a way out and have been so supportive all the way through my DMP.
